Today marks the start of a new campaign of industrial action involving Gardai.

Members of the Garda Representative Association will refuse to take work-related phone calls in their personal time, as part of a plan resisting public sector cutbacks.

They’ll also withdraw from an informal system where they appear as witnesses in court proceedings without being formally summonsed.

The GRA represents 12 thousand rank and file Gardai.
