Harrington sneaks into contention

Mar 12th, 2010, 9:10 pm

Padraig Harrington carded a late birdie to post a four-under-par 68 for his second round at the CA Championship in Florida. The Dubliner has climbed to six under par at the half-way mark, which is four shots behind out-right leader, Ernie Els. The South African is one shot clear of Robert Allenby, who bogeyed his final hole in a roller-coaster five-under par round of 67. The Australian had a remarkable round that featured; a hole in one, an eagle, six birdies, one double-bogey and three bogeys as well as six pars. Graeme McDowell picked-up two shots for his second round and he’ll resume on Saturday from level par. Rory McIlroy dropped another shot today and he’s now five over for the tournament.
