The Irish Patients Association says the Minister for Health could order an investigation into failures at Tallaght hospital in Dublin from New Zealand.

There have been calls for Mary Harney to cut her junket short – after an official engagement this evening.

But Chairperson of the Irish Patients Association Stephen McMahon has said that’s not necessary.

And he said the review could be as far reaching as the Neary investigation into excessive hysterectomies at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda.
