Kidney names 6 Nations squad

Irish coach Declan Kidney has named a 44 man squad for the upcoming defence of the 6 Nations Grandslam title.

The group contains 9 uncapped players, including the Leinster trio of Kevin McLaughlin, Fergus McFadden and John Fogarty, while Ulster hooker Rory Best is included as he continues his recovery from a neck injury, and Munster prop Marcus Horan also makes after his lay-off with illness.

Ireland open their campaign with the visit of Italy to Croke Park on February 6th, with A games against the England Saxons and Scotland A lined up for the week before.
