Leinster have moved to fill the void left by Stan Wright’s Achilles tendon injury. New head coach Joe Schmidt has signed-up 32-year-old tight-head prop Ben Prescott from Nottingham on a one-year deal. The Irish qualified forward was born in Libya and previously played for Glasgow and Rotherham. Prescott will go straight into the squad along with the likes of John Fogarty, Jamie Heaslip and Shane Horgan for their opening Magners League encounter against the Glasgow Warriors on Friday. Leinster manager Guy Easterby said: “We are pleased to complete a deal for Ben and he will add further competition to the pack, especially in light of the unfortunate long-term injury to Stan Wright. Ben trained with the squad this week and we are confident that his experience and ability will be a welcome addition to the panel for the remainder of the season.”
