More than 500 new jobs for Dublin Airport

Jun 23rd, 2010, 4:40 pm

Over 500 new jobs are to come on stream with the opening of Terminal 2 (T2) at Dublin Airport.

The Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) says recruitment will begin immediately in areas including passenger services, security and cleaning.

In addition to the 400 retails jobs announced in April the latest recruitment drive will bring the number of people employed in Terminal 2 to 900.

DAA spokesperson Siobhan Moore says it is a great opportunity.

“The advertisement has just gone up in the Dublin Airport website from this afternoon” she said.

“So we are recruiting immediately, that drive will be underway”.

“We would expect there to be huge interest particularly in the current climate”.

“It’s a very exciting opportunity for people to be part of a brand new terminal – which doesn’t happen very often” she added.

The new terminal has been designed to handle up to 15 million passengers per year and will be open in November.

Details of the new vacancies are available at www.daa.ie or by telephoning 01-8955715.
