No survivors expected from Pakistan crash, say officials

Jul 28th, 2010, 11:51 am

A rescue team says there appears to be no survivors following a plane crash in Pakistan.

At least 90 people were killed among the 152 people on board.

The Airbus 321 belonged to the airline Airblue and crashed into a heavily wooded hillside while flying from Karachi to Islamabad.

Rescuers said they had to dig through the rubble with their bare hands with fire and thick smoke hampering their work.

The fire is extinguished but access to the hillside is limited.

The plane lost contact with the control room of the Islamabad International Airport at 04:43am GMT.

It was carrying 146 passengers and 6 crew members.
