Poll: Opinion evenly divided on George Lee

A poll in today’s Sunday Independent shows opinion is evenly divided on George Lee’s decision to quit the Dáil and Fine Gael.

The Milward Brown/IMS poll shows that 45 per cent believe he was right to resign when he did while 43 percent think he was wrong to leave just nine months after his by-election win in Dublin South.

The poll shows that 58 per cent of people think he should be allowed to return to work in RTÉ.

While 27 per cent think he should set up a new political party.

On the question of Enda Kenny’s leadership of Fine Gael, 49 per cent of respondents said he will not be leading the party into the next General Election.

38 per cent said he would.
