Polls suggest Cameron won final UK TV debate

Apr 30th, 2010, 10:24 am

A series of snap polls say Conservative leader David Cameron has won the final TV debate in the run up to the UK election.

The debate was the most lively of the three, with the economy the main topic for discussion.

The polls say Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg came second with Prime Minister Gordon Brown third.

Former Tory Minister Edwina Curry told Breakfast here on Newstalk it’s not looking good for the Labour leader.

“Gordon Brown has done very badly in all the debates” she said.

“The latest poll suggests he’s only going to pick up about 25% of the vote – which would be, for a current government with a big majority, a really serious defeat” she added.
