A group of musicians and singers are to hold a ‘session’ outside Castlerea Prison in Co. Roscommon today to show solidarity for imprisoned fisherman and activist Pat O’Donnell.
Mr. O’Donnell was arrested and removed from Broadhaven Bay on three occasions in 2008 and 2009 as Shell attempted to lay the offshore Corrib Gas Pipeline.
After being convicted of a number of public order offences he was imprisoned and is now into the second month of his sentence.
Irish singer Frances Black is to take part in the event, which gets underway at 2 o’clock this afternoon.
