A teenager has been killed in a road accident in Co Meath.

The 17 year old boy was a passenger in a car which crashed on a minor road near Ashbourne shortly after midnight.

The driver and a second passenger, also teenage boys, were uninjured.

The road is closed for technical examination and diversions are in place.
