Two die following separate road crashes.

Two men have died following separate road accidents in Counties Kildare and Limerick this morning.

A man in his forties died when the car he was driving collided with another vehicle in County Kildare.

It happened on the Carberry to Edenderry Road at 6.45 this morning.

Two people travelling in the other car were taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

The road is closed and diversions are in place.

And a man in his twenties was killed in a crash at Newcastlewest in County Limerick at half past eight.

The driver of the second vehicle was injured.

A stretch of the N21 is closed pending a forensic examination.
