A 62-year-old man has been killed in an accident on the Ennis to Limerick rail line.
His death follows that of a teenager who was struck by a train in Tipperary over the weekend.
It is understood the 62 year old man was moving animals along the track last night when the accident happened.
He was struck by an oncoming train at Ralahine near New Market in Clare at 10:10pm.
Meanwhile Iarnrod Eireann is investigating a separate tragic accident in which an 18 year old died after being struck by a train in Tipperary over the weekend.
The teenager was hit while walking along the Limerick to Ballybrophy line.
He was struck a short distance from Nenagh train station just before 6pm on Saturday night.
