Wayne Rooney scored twice again as Manchester United cruised into the quarter-finals of the Champions League after a crushing 4-0 win over a feeble AC Milan, which sent them through 7-2 on aggregate. Rooney, who scored twice in the 3-2 San Siro win, was on target again with a thumping header from a Gary Neville cross after 13 minutes. Milan went close with an early Ronaldinho header but seemed to lose heart after the goal and United’s defence had a more comfortable ride than they had any right to expect in the knockout round of Europe’s Premier competition against the seven-times winners. Rooney’s 30th goal of the season within a minute of the restart was the killer blow. Park Ji-sung made it 3-0 after an hour and Darren Fletcher completed the astonishing rout with an 88th-minute header.
