Patrick Vieira could make his debut for Manchester City against Blackburn at Eastlands this evening.
However the former Arsenal skipper is struggling to shake off a calf injury as he looks to take his place in the side after sealing a 6 month deal with the club last week.
The French midfielder would likely take the place of Nigel de Jong in the City line-up, and may even captain the side in the absence of Kolo Toure.
A win for City would see them leapfrog Tottenham and into the top 4.
