Here are the Newspaper headlines for Thursday April 1st (trust no-one)….

The Irish Times leads with “Bailout for Anglo may exceed €22 billion, bank admits”

The paper says Anglo has posted the biggest loss inn Irish corporate history of €22 billion.

The Irish Independent’s front page says “They thought they could walk on water”

The newspaper’s lead story says a top executive at anglo says the former Chairman, Sean Fitzpatrick, Chief Executive, David Drumm and Finance Director, William McAteer, thought they could walk on water. The paper says most of their personal €155m in loans will be wiped out and the cost picked up by the exchequer.

The Irish Examiner has the headline “Anglo 3 were paid €1m last year”

The paper says despite owing Anglo €100m its three infamous former executives, Sean Fitzpatrick, David Drumm and William McAteer were paid one million in back pay and fees last year.

The Mirror has the headline “Go to El, Seanie” on its front page

The paper says that ex-Anglo Chairman, Sean Fitzpatrick, fled to Spain as Anglo yesterday announced record losses of €12.7 billion.

The papers reports That Anglo chiefs have left taxpayers with €100m in loans they will not meet the re-payments of.

The Star has the headline “Anglo’s 3 Kings To Screw Us For €82m”

The newspaper says €82 million is the cost written-down from loans to Anglo’s former directors.

The Irish Daily Mail leads with “30,000 At Risk Over Vaccine Delay”

The paper says the HSE has no hope of beginning the cervical cancer vaccination before June meaning 30,000 schoolgirls may miss out.
