George's Favourite Women

Mar 8th, 2010, 6:20 pm

Pamela Anderson

For International Women’s Day, George decided to select his top international women. No suprise that ULTIMATE FANTASY went to Pamela Anderson.

Naturally, BEST AUSTRIAN WOMAN went to The Lovely Ingrid Hook. Have a listen back to a clip of Ingrid when she appeared on the show to talk about vacum cleaners (Not hoovers as George said!)

HillaryNo suprise either that BEST INTERNATIONAL women was US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Beating off some stiff competition for BEST SPORTSWOMAN was golfer Annika Sorenstam.

George was in no doubt that BEST MUSICIAN goes to Winifred Atwell.

There was tough competition for BEST ACTRESS, but alas, Audrey Hepburn came out on top.

And as for BEST AUTHOR, George elected to give the award to Rachel Carson. Her widely praised 1951 bestseller The Sea Around Us won her recognition as a gifted writer. Morevoer, her work had a significant impact on the environmental movement. Silent Spring, in particular, was a rallying point for the movement in the 1960s.
