Cork inflicted a second National hurling league defeat of the season on Kilkenny in Pairce Uí Caoimh.

The Rebels overcame the All Ireland Hurling Champions by 18 points to 1-13 in a physical encounter on Leeside.

Elsewhere Offaly beat Dublin by 3-19 to 1-18, Tipperary were too strong for Galway, it finished 2-17 to 0-14 points in Thurles.

Waterford overcame a gutsy Limerick performance to win out 2-20 to 2-10 at Fraher Field.

In Division One of the National Football League Kerry cruised past Galway at Pearse Stadium by 2-16 to 1-09.

In Division 2 Tipperary stunned Meath by 1-09 to 10 points, Armagh ruined Kieran McGeeney’s homecoming winning by 12 points to 5, while Laois overcame Westmeath by 24 points to 3-08.

In Division 3 Louth, Antrim and Sligo all registered victories, while Carlow, Wicklow and Clare all claimed wins in Division 4.
