Jul 27th, 2010, 11:56 am

6 people have been arrested in connection with 3 separate operations targeting drugs in Dublin.

Gardai seized drugs worth €600,000 and discovered a cannabis factory in Stillorgan.

A man and woman have been arrested and are being questioned at Blackrock Garda station.

At 1pm yesterday Gardai stopped and searched a car on the Drummartin Link Road in Stillorgan.

They found 5 kilos of cannabis grass in the boot of the car and the 33-year-old driver was arrested.

Later a follow up search of a house in Mount Anville Wood in Stillorgan revealed the entire upstairs was being used as a cannabis factory.

Each of the 4 bedrooms contained ‘a pot grow system’ with high density lighting systems, reflective wall coverings, extensive ventilation and air extraction systems.

Approximately 500 cannabis plants and several more kilos of cannabis grass were discovered.

A 33-year-old woman was also arrested at the house.

Detectives also carried out 2 follow up searches in Clondalkin and Crumlin.

The operation was all part of an ongoing crackdown on the sale and supply of drugs in the Stillorgan area.

Meanwhile in a separate operation 4 men have been arrested following an operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in West Dublin.

A car and van were stopped and searched on the Ninth Lough Road at around 7pm yesterday evening.

7 kilos of cannabis herb worth around €82,000 was seized and 3 men were arrested.

A substantial quantity of cash was recovered and a 19-year-old man arrested in a search of a house in the Clonshaugh area on the Northside of Dublin.

He is being detained at Ballymun Garda Station.
