Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has been warned by members of his party that he will have to improve his performance as leader.
Mr. Kenny last night defended himself against party backbenchers critical over his handling of the George Lee affair.
A five hour meeting of Fine Gael TDs and Senators last night heard a range of blunt criticisms of Mr Kenny, his front bench team, and party officials.
Fine Gael’s Simon Coveney said however that their party leader has their full support.
“Enda has said honestly – both to the front bench and to the party – he’s been willing to discuss our ideas in relation to his style of leadership” he said.
“I think you will see him moving forward with as much energy as ever, but taking on board the ideas and concerns that people have expressed this week” he added.
