The Government has agreed to a Dáil debate this evening on unpublished reports into the deaths of children in state care.
Ministers are denying allegations from the Opposition of a ‘cover-up’, insisting the reports have not been published for legal reasons.
It follows the publication of the “TF” report by Fine Gael yesterday.
The uncle of the girl at the centre of that report has said the HSE has no right to ask Alan Shatter to withdraw the details from the public record.
Add speaking to Lunchtime with Eamon Keane here on Newstalk, he’s strongly criticised the HSE for not maintaining more contact with the family.
“The contact was very minimal from the HSE” he said.
“They talked about sensitivity, but to me it’s insensitivity”.
“They’re a big organisation – there’s no problem making a phone call, or making an effort to consult the family; there’s no excuses for them”.
“The mother of Tracey has stated this – that she’d have no problem with the HSE communicating with me” he added.
