Dublin City Council proposes lower speed limit

Jan 28th, 2010, 5:25 pm

Dublin City Council is being criticised for imposing a new ultra-low 30 kilometre per hour speed limit – across the entire centre of the capital from next week.

The new speed limit will operate at all times, and will also apply to wide thoroughfares like the North and South Quays.

AA Ireland says there is just no sense in the decision, as there’s no carbon benefit from the decision, and  it won’t impact road safety as Dublin City is one of the safest places in the country.
