The next European Commission has been approved by the European Parliament.
They voted overwhelmingly in favour of the new 27-strong team of commissioners.
Each commissioner had previously faced a hearing in the European Parliament.
They are responsible for proposing and enforcing laws across the EU.
Máire Geoghegan Quinn will take the post of Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science.
She says stability is a priority.
“Looking at the whole way in which the Eurozone is at the moment, what’s happening – not just in Greece but in other member states as well – and that will be a key priority for the incoming commission” she said.
