A Fianna Fail TD says Mary Harney’s management of the Health Service is unacceptable.

It follows the revelation earlier this week that 58,000 X-Rays at Tallaght Hospital were never reviewed by a consultant radiologist over a 5 year period.

Local Deputy Charlie O Connor has also slammed the hospital board saying the Chairman’s position is simply untenable.

He’s told Breakfast here on Newstalk that serious questions have been raised.

“I am very clear that there are governance issues for the hospital board” he said.

“I’ve been among the critics in the Dail, on the record, and indeed in the HSE and how they are dealing with (it)”.

When asked if he thought her management of the HSE was acceptable, O’Connor replied “No”.
