A Fianna Fail activist involved in a row with the Transport Minister Noel Dempsey has released documents which he says show the Minister failed to investigate allegations of serious planning irregularities in Dublin.
Jerry Beades, a member of Fianna Fail’s National Executive, was harshly criticised by Minister Dempsey last night for calling for a cabinet reshuffle.
Mr. Beades today publicised letters he wrote to the Minister and others in the 1990′s – complaining about planning irregularities, claiming the Minister failed to act.
He said he decided to release the letters because Noel Dempsey failed to apologise for damaging remarks made about him at last night’s Fianna Fail national executive meeting.
“(For) Noel Dempsey to turn round and personalise, as he did, to try and severely damage me – I’m a voluntary member of a political party” he said.
“He’s a man who collects 180,000 a year plus, and he should have more respect for members of the organisation” he added.
