An investigation is underway in Dublin after a woman’s body was found in an apartment.
It’s understood she had been stabbed to death.
A man who was also in the apartment has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Gardaí were called to the scene at an apartment in the grounds of the Irish Management Institute in Dundrum at around 7am this morning.
There they found the body of a Romanian woman who was in her 30′s – it’s understood she had been stabbed to death.
A man in his 40′s, also from Romania, was taken by ambulance to St Vincent’s Hospital where he is undergoing treatment for knife wounds.
Conor Feehan is senior reporter with the Evening Herald – he described the scene.
“Where this actually happened, it’s a hotel that operates with the Irish Management Institute complex in the Sandyford area of south Dublin” he said.
“They were called around 7am after a disturbance, and when they arrived they found the body of a woman believed to be in her 30s and also a man who was badly injured” he added.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the state pathologist has been notified.
Gardai are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
