The jury in the trial of a man accused of raping and sexually assaulting his now 20 year old son will go into its second day of deliberations later.
The 52-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons denies a total of 47 charges on dates between April 11th, 2001 and June 23rd, 2004.
The jury retired on Friday afternoon, and this morning it will resume the task of deciding a verdict on 47 charges.
It’s alleged the man sexually abused his son as often as twice a week when the boy was between 12 and 15 years old.
A separate charge of wilful neglect or ill-treatment of the boy was withdrawn from the jury at the Central Criminal Court.
