A Dublin man has been jailed for 10 years for distributing pornographic images to a pedophile ring.

The court heard the images included several of the accused sexually assaulting a six year old girl.

He admitted abuse, sexual exploitation as well as producing and distributing child pornography on dates between January 2005 and November 2008.

Gardai found a video of the accused engaged in a sexual act in front of a one year old baby and images of a two-year-old semi-naked girl.

The court heard he would trade the images he took, distributing them internationally to 150 other paedophiles.

The 50 year old also downloaded a number of images – which included depictions of girls as young as four being raped.

He was caught after gardai were contacted by the FBI in relation to the distribution of child porn from a particular e-mail address.

Imposing a ten year sentence, Judge Katherine Delahunt described his crimes as heinous.
