A 19-year-old man is to appear before Cloverhill District Court next week charged with the murder of a shopkeeper in Co. Wicklow last year.

Anthony Farrell of Marian Villas in Arklow has been charged with the murder of John Deasy.

The 44-year-old father of two was fatally stabbed during a burglary at his shop in the Wicklow town on the 25th of February last.

Mr. Farrell appeared before Arklow District Court earlier today where he was granted legal aid and remanded in custody.

He’s due before Cloverhill District Court next Wednesday – the 3rd of February.
