Police in the north have launched a murder investigation after emergency services were unable to save a man found injured in West Belfast.

He had sustained serious head injuries and died at the scene in the Woodburn Crescent area at about 2am this morning.

Officers are working to establish his identity and are trying to find out the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
