Several countries around the world are on tsunami alert after an earthquake measuring 8.8 hit Chile.
78 people are now confirmed dead following the quake which struck the country’s second largest city Concepcion.
The Chilean president has declared a state of catastrophe as the country begins coming to terms with the devastation of the early morning quake.
A total of 53 nations have been issued with tsunami warnings following the quake.
These include Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Central America and Pacific island nations.
Meanwhile, people are moving to higher ground on Easter Island – amid fears of an impending tsunami.
