It’s emerged a second boy was shot by people celebrating New Year’s Eve in the US.

A 6-year-old Italian is recovering in hospital after being hit in the chest by a stray bullet in Miami.

Four-year-old Markell Peters was killed during celebrations at a church in Georgia.

Peters was at a New Year service in Atlanta when he was struck in the head.

Police believe the person who fired the shot may have been celebrating, and not realised what they did.

His mother Nathalee Peters, is devastated.

“That was my only child; he’s gone – he was only four” she said.

“I missed him, I loved him, he was so sweet” she added.
