Two men have been killed in a road accident in Co. Laois.

The crash happened on the main Dublin to Limerick road near Borris on Ossory at around 7:30am this morning.

The two car collision happened on the N7 between The Pike of Rushhall and Castletown in Co. Laois.

Two men – one aged in his late 20′s, the other in his early 30′s – were pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman in her 50′s was also injured in the crash – her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The section of the road has been closed and is expected to remain that way for a number of hours.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
