The Finance Minister is reiterating that he fully supports the nomination of Kevin Cardiff to the European Court of Auditors.
He is due to leave the top job in the Department of Finance later this year to make the move to Europe.
One MEP from the UK Impendence Party (UKIP) has voiced concern over the plan.
It comes amid the controversy surrounding a €3.6 billion accounting error in the Department which emerged here last week.
Marta Andreasen says she will raise the matter with the president of the Court of Auditors on Thursday.
She told Breakfast here on Newstalk that she will request further information on Kevin Cardiff today.
