Each Winter, Amateur Drama groups embark on the gruelling ordeal of attempting to qualify for the All-Ireland Amateur Drama finals in Athlone.
The Anvil Players hit the intense qualifying festival circuit travelling, to all 4 provinces, with their producer John McGraths inventive take on the classic “The Importance of being Earnest.”
Drama tis Personal share a dressing room with the Anvil Players, sharing in the frustration and the exhilaration as harsh public adjudications highlight strengths but also the need for drastic changes if the group is to qualify. Will they make it?
‘Drama tis Personal’ airs on Newstalk on Saturday 2nd of April 2011 at 7am and is repeated on Sunday 3rd of April 2011 at 9pm.

Frances Byrnes (Stage Manager) and the Festival Director Murt McInerney look on from the wings as the Anvil Players stage the Importance of Being Earnest at the Doonbeg Drama Festival.
