A severe weather plan to keep Dublin streets and footpaths clear of snow is being drawn up for the winter.
It is to avoid a repeat of the chaos we saw in the capital during the cold snap last year.
The winter-ready information campaign is being presented later this morning.
City councillors will be briefed on the specifics tomorrow.
The council has stockpiled 2,350 tonnes of salt to keep roads salt-free.
It is also seeking half that again from the National Roads Authority (NRA).
