Solicitors need to be more transparent about their pricing policy.
That is according to the National Consumer Agency (NCA).

The cost of conveyancing ranged from over €1,000 in Leinster to a high of €4,000 in in Connaught/Ulster.
The Agency also says solicitors appear reluctant to reveal their prices.
Fergal O’Leary is with the NCA.
“I suppose what we’ve mainly come out of as a result of this survey is that – like anything else – there is real value and real potential for big savings to be made for shopping around for legal services” he said.
“The other thing that we found was it was quite difficult to get quotes”.
“We would be looking for I think greater transparency and greater ease of access for quotes for consumers when it comes to legal services”.
“That’s something we’d be hoping to work with the relevant bodies” he added.
