A man has pleaded guilty to planning to kill President Obama.
The 22-year-old from Uzbekistan, appeared in court in Alabama after being arrested in an undercover operation.
Ulugbek Kodirov was detained by officers while trying to buy guns and explosives.
He faces up to 30 years in prison.
Defence lawyer Lance Bell says the 22-year-old avoided a possible life sentence by pleading guilty:
“He’s accepted responsibility for the charges he plead guilty to and regrets what happened and is glad to put this behind him.”
