The Taoiseach says 3rd-level education must be “at its best” if the country is going to prosper and that does not “come cheap”.
Education Minister Ruairi Quinn has confirmed that a series of annual hikes to college registration fees will see the sum rise to around €3,000 over the next 4 years.
Enda Kenny has denied that the middle class are being hit hardest by budget cuts and spending increases.
And he says a quality education is vital for economic recovery.
He also says this needs to be properly funded.
