A 16-year-old girl has been shot dead in Jobstown in Dublin.
The girl was a passenger in a car that was parked in Brookview Way when shots were fired from a passing vehicle at around 10:35pm last night.
She was taken to Tallaght Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The scene has been sealed off and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
A post mortem is expected to be carried out on the her remains later.
The Justice Minister Alan Shatter has described the shooting as ‘horrific’.
