Polish waitress benefiting on Irish dole bashes Donegal

Walking along the beach with your partner, a comfortable home where you can hear the ocean from the window, enough free time to learn sign language and how to surf… these are just some of the perks a Polish waitress enjoys while living in Donegal on the dole.

Magda – not her real name – has given an interview to a Polish newspaper in which she says living in Ireland on social welfare is akin to a ‘Hawaiian massage’. The article is outlined in this morning’s Irish Independent. Magda says she earns €67 a week more than when she was working and €182 more than if she was on the dole in her native Poland.

She doesn’t elude to where exactly in Donegal she’s residing but describes the area as a S ** * Hole. Labour Senator Jimmy Harte is from Donegal and joined Chris and Ivan on Newstalk Breakfast this morning:
