Orgasm for science

Feb 11th, 2012, 8:00 am

On this week’s Futureproof, we speak to author and brave human test-subject, Kayt Sukel. Kayt is the author of Dirty Minds, a new book that explores the role of our brains in love, sex, and relationships. As part of her research, Kayt famously had an orgasm while the blood-flow to her brain was being monitored by an fMRI scanner. We’ll be speaking with Kayt about how the experiment helped researchers better understand what happens in the brain during orgasm, and what was involved in getting that data.
