The Football Association of Ireland has confirmed that the Ireland team will have a pre-tournament training camp in Tuscany in Italy ahead of Euro 2012. Giovanni Trapattoni and his players will fly-out for a week-long training camp in Montecatini in northern Italy after playing host to Bosnia in Aviva Stadium on May 26th. The Association says that it also expects to receive final confirmation this week of a friendly match against Hungary. The game is planned to take place in Budapest on June 4th, the day before the team travels to its tournament base in Poland. This Friday, Trapattoni will name his squad for this month’s friendly against the Czech Republic. Sunderland’s James McClean is expected to win a call-up after a series of stunning performances for his club this year. The former Derry City will be included, provided that the FAI can complete the necessary paperwork with FIFA beforehand. However, Leon Best will miss the game against the Czechs after Newcastle confirmed that he’s facing up to six weeks out of action with a knee injury.
