Joe Canning will miss the start of Galway’s Allianz Hurling League campaign which begins against defending champions Dublin this weekend. The Portumna man suffered an injured collarbone in todays Fitzgibbon Cup quarter-final – his side Limerick IT advanced to the semi final with a comfortable 1-19 to 0-8 win over GMIT. By the time Canning left the pitch in the second half he had scored 1-8. Cork IT got the better of NUI Galway by 4-11 to 1-10 in todays other last 8 clash
