The Connacht full-back dived over the in the corner in the first-half after a break from the impressive JJ Hanrahan. But Mike Ruddock’s side needed second-half drop-goals from captain Paddy Jackson and substitute scrum-half, Luke McGrath to help steer them to victory. In the women’s international, Ireland were leading Wales by 10 points to 3 in Ashbourne when the referee decided to abandon the match at half-time due to frost on the pitch.
