Over 3,000 people took the streets of Castlebar today, calling on Taoiseach Enda Kenny to stick to Fine Gaels pre-election promises on abortion.
Organisers of the event say they wanted to send a clear message to the government to reject any attempts to legalise abortion in Ireland.
The rally was organised in anticipation of the recommendations from the expert group which was formed earlier this year in response to the European Court"s ruling on Ireland"s abortion laws.
