Sometimes it really does get a bit ridiculous with these two. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a perfect hat-trick – that being one goal with each of right foot, left foot and head – in just 10 minutes for Real Madrid against Getafe last night. Elsewhere, Leo Messi was racking up 4 goals in the, quite frankly, pedestrian time of 48 minutes as Osasuna fell to a 5-1 defeat in the Camp Nou.

We can presume neither man will find his next game quite so straightforward. There’s a Copa del Rey clasico on Wednesday night and with Madrid desperately looking for a way to restore some pride in their season, and Barca in some of their best domestic form for a couple of years, there is ample reason to get excited.
