43% of consumers have switched a least one product or service within the last year.

The National Consumer Agency has published its latest research on switching behaviours and found that 80% of people have managed to make savings by shopping around.

Car insurance, electricity, gas, gym membership, grocery shops, home insurance, and internet provider are the things people are most likely to switch from to get a better deal.

Consumers made the biggest savings switching mobile phone providers, making average savings of €24 a month. Moving between electricity providers saved customers a monthly average of €21.

People under 35 years of age are most likely to switch service provides, although 36% of consumers said they 'tend to stick' with the same companies.
