A woman who is seeking justice for her brother’s murder featured in an RTE documentary last night.
Eleanor King’s brother Andrew punched a senior IRA member in a pub brawl in Belfast in 1998, two weeks later he was shot three times in the leg and bled to death.
She alleges that Gerry Adams apologized at the time, on behalf of the Republican movement, and assured that those responsible would be disciplined.
Ten years later Eleanor claims she met Mr. Adams again and asked for a public apology from the IRA:
Catherine McCartney’s brother Robert was murdered in 2005. The IRA took responsibility for the murder.
She spoke to Newstalk Breakfast this morning about his murder and stated that there are no elements of justice in this and that the attacks are just revenge.
She finished by stating: "The first thing I would say to Sinn Féin is you have to start putting Provos (sic) in the dock. They refuse to put Republicans in the dock.
"Until they starting doing that, their words are just empty regarding their police and people don't trust them on it."
Speaking about the RTE programme today, Dessie Ellis said the family deserve an apology if there is a Republican involvement:
