The man who raped and murdered Irishwoman Jill Meagher in Australia in 2012 will not be released from prison until he is at least 86-years-old.

Adrian Ernest-Bayley has been sentenced today for three violent and 'chilling' attacks on women between 2000 and 2012.

Bayley (43) is already serving a life sentence in prison with a non-parole period of 35 years for the rape and murder of Ms Meagher in 2013.

Melbourne County Court Judge Sue Pullen set a new non-parole period of 43 years, meaning he will not be eligible until at least 2058.

She said Bayley had shown no remorse, and added there was little to suggest he would ever be rehabilitated.

She described his behaviour as serious and disturbing.

"You are sentenced as both a serious sexual offender and a serious violent offender," she said.

"I was also conscious that the sentence I have imposed, will most likely, ensure you have likely forfeited your rights to hope [for], or expectation of, eventual release from prison," she added.

Bayley, who sat at the back of the court dressed all in black, did not react to the sentence.
